Aptabase is the closest thing to a direct competitor on the app side — it's built specifically for mobile, desktop, and game-engine analytics, with more platform SDKs than Mitr ships today. If you're building for Unity, Unreal, Electron, Tauri, or .NET MAUI, Aptabase likely covers more ground — those aren't in Mitr's SDK lineup yet (Electron and Tauri are on the roadmap; see the SDK suite's "coming soon" list).

Choose Aptabase if…
- You're building for a platform Mitr doesn't cover yet — Unity, Unreal, Electron, Tauri, .NET MAUI, or similar.
- Full anonymity (no identify(), no user-level metrics) is a hard requirement, not a tradeoff.
- You want a choice of EU or US data residency today.
Choose Mitr if…
- You want one analytics account across a website, a Flutter/React Native/native Swift/native Kotlin app, and a Node.js backend, with a matching dashboard and cross-app funnels.
- You need user-level analysis (funnels tied to a hashed identifier, MAU, retention) rather than fully anonymous aggregate events.
- You need DPDP Act 2023 (India) alignment specifically — see /trust.
What's the same either way
Both are privacy-first and cookie-free, with no third-party tracking or data resale. The real fork in the road is the anonymity model: Aptabase never has a way to tie two events to the same person, by design; Mitr can, via a hashed identifier, if you call identify(). Pick based on whether you need that capability.
