Traffic Alerts
Alerts watch your total daily event volume and tell you when something's off, instead of you needing to notice it yourself. No dashboard-checking required — Mitr runs the comparison automatically every day and only notifies you when your traffic actually deviates from its normal pattern.
How it decides something's an anomaly
Once a day, Mitr compares yesterday's total event volume across all of your workspace's connected apps against the trailing 7-day average (the 7 full days before yesterday). If the deviation crosses your configured threshold in your configured direction, you get notified.
- Direction — alert on a spike, a drop, or both.
- Metric — total daily event count, workspace-wide.
- Throttling — at most one notification per rolling 24 hours, so a multi-day anomaly doesn't spam you on every run.
Where the notification goes
Pick one channel per rule:
- Email — sent to your account email.
- Webhook — delivered the same way as event webhooks, to any URL you control.
- Slack — posted directly to a Slack channel via an incoming webhook URL.
Setting one up
From the dashboard: Settings → Alerts. Choose a direction (spike / drop / both), a threshold, and a channel, then save. Mitr supports one active alert rule per workspace in v1.
What this isn't (yet)
v1 is intentionally narrow: one metric (daily event volume), one rule per workspace, evaluated once a day. There's no per-site or per-event alerting, and no error-rate metric, today — if that's what you need, tell us at support@mitranalytics.dev.
